Summer Artisan Home Tour featuring Mark D. Williams Custom Homes
As the weather warms up, we're getting ready for one of our most anticipated events: the 2023 Artisan Home Tour. Each year a select group of custom home builders and remodelers get together to showcase our high-end homes. It's a fantastic opportunity for potential clients and trade partners to see and enjoy the work of local high-end builders as well as get ideas and make connections for their own potential building process.
Over the course of several weekends in June, stop by our Artisan Home for plenty of iced coffee and live music. It’s a fun opportunity for builders and clients alike to connect over the craft we love!
The Medina Build
This year we'll be showcasing a beautiful Minnesota home located right along the Medina Golf and Country Club. For this custom build, the newly empty nesters wanted to focus on a smaller, peaceful experience they could enjoy for many years to come.
We focused on helping this dream home stand the test of time by making sure all the necessary living spaces were easily accessible, including the primary suite, main office, and combined mudroom/laundry room space.
A Contemporary Home to Enjoy
While the practical's were important, we also wanted this space to be beautiful and cultivate the kind of lifestyle our clients looked forward to! To accomplish this we started by making sure the custom-built home was southern facing with plenty of windows. This allows for plenty of natural light while showcasing Minnesota's spectacular four seasons for their enjoyment.
Hosting is always a priority so we made sure the design choices reflected that; opting to include an open concept floor plan with several more spaces conducive to gathering- from the stunning stone fireplace in the living room to the attached deck. We wanted this couple to enjoy their transitional phase of life with their grown family and friends easily able to spend time together!
A Few Special Touches for this High-End Home
For this custom home project we focused on a minimalistic design style with a few accent features for flair including a wood box treatment on the ceiling of the kitchen, dining area, and great room.
Hand-blown light fixtures on the main level created by local Hennepin Made artists were a focal point during this building journey. You can see these above the staircase, in the kitchen, and in the dining room!
Additionally, the lower level offers entertainment for the homeowners and their visitors with two guest bedrooms, a home gym and sauna, and a media area that elevates movie nights with a bar and beverage fridge.
