Honey Hill Harvest Event: Minnesota Custom Home Builders Unveil New Land Development
We couldn’t have asked for a more picture-perfect fall day when we welcomed over 140 guests to our Honey Hill Harvest event. Between the leaves just starting to change and the crisp 65-degree weather, everything fell into place for a gathering marking a significant milestone in our custom home development project! As Minnesota custom home builders, we love every project we get a chance to work on, but between the live events and collaboration with other industry experts, the Honey Hill project has been extra special!
A Fresh Start in Land Development
With all the existing structures removed, including two homes and a 10,000-square-foot train storage unit, the Honey Hill land was cleared of invasive species like box elder and scrub trees. What remained was a beautiful open space, setting the stage for the future custom homes that will transform this area. The event was held to celebrate this custom home building progress and to give our community a glimpse of what’s to come!
The turnout was incredible, thanks to exposure from Minnetonka Magazine, social media, and email campaigns. Everyone’s excited to see the next chapter for Honey Hill!
A Festival of Music, Food, and Fun
The event felt like a bluegrass festival. Nelson Devereaux and the Riffin Trio, along with a guest guitarist from the Cactus Blossoms, provided live music, creating the perfect soundtrack for the day. Guests mingled, enjoyed the music, and savored the delicious food (seriously, I’m still dreaming about it) from a local food truck, Jesse James. Drinks flowed, and the atmosphere was everything we could have hoped for!
Children joined in the fun, playing on tree swings, while others engaged in stick sword fights—classic kid antics that added to the lightheartedness of the day. Families were also treated to a fall photo session, with a photographer on hand to capture the beautiful setting and offer headshots or family portraits. My own kids even surprised me by showing up, which added a personal touch to an already special event.
It was such a fun community moment focused on celebrating the work of Honey Hill and just enjoying the process together.
Architectural Showcases and Interactive Displays
One of the event's highlights was the presence of all three architects collaborating on the Honey Hill project: Chisel Architecture, James McNeal Architecture, and Christopher Strom Architects. In the preserved barn on Lot 2, where old horse stalls once stood, we set up booths for each architect to showcase their work. (The barn itself offers future potential as a pool house or game room for one of the future homeowners, adding another layer of excitement to the development).
James McNeal Architecture brought something extra special—a 3D modeling software that allowed guests to virtually walk through two of their home designs. His commitment to quality brought the experience to the next level, giving attendees a firsthand look at what life could be like in Honey Hill’s luxury neighborhood! The natural buzz of excitement this created added to all the fun.
Getting the Lay of the Land (Literally)
We wanted our guests to get a true feel for the land and its potential. Each of the six lots was clearly marked, and inside the barn, large plat maps and architectural renderings from Chisel and JMad provided a visual sense of the custom homes that will soon grace this space. Guests were free to roam the land, walk down to the lake, and envision what living in the upcoming beautiful homes in Honey Hill could be like.
Real estate agents brought clients, past homeowners came to reminisce, and future homeowners explored their possibilities. The relaxed, open-house feel of the event made it easy for everyone to engage with each other and the land itself. Whether you were there to enjoy the music, the food, or to learn more about the development, there was something for everyone.
A Glimpse Into Honey Hill’s Future
The Honey Hill Harvest event was more than just a day of celebration—it was a preview of what’s to come with these incredible, custom-built homes. With its stunning natural beauty, carefully curated architecture, and close-knit community feel, Honey Hill promises to be a stunning array of homes in a can’t-miss luxury neighborhood!
Thank you to everyone who attended and made this day memorable—we look forward to seeing what the future holds for Honey Hill.
